Piktochart is an online tool that lets you create very eye-catching visual representations of information (posters, banners, presentations) also called infographics. Users can choose to use one of several infographic templates or create their own form, where they can insert maps, charts, icons and photos. Infographic posters are usually quite colourful and pictorial. Students and teachers can use them to tell stories or present information in a clear and compact way, which makes reading and remembering new information easier. Created posters can be embedded on a blog/website, or social media. We really like this interesting visual tool and believe that students will find it useful and very usable at school and in their future jobs. Teachers will find it an interesting presenting tool that can be used in many different subjects.
Students leaned to create Infographics during the 5th Learning Activity in the Czech Republic. During this workshop students used data that they had prepared and sent to DropBox before the meeting. In twos they worked on creating a poster about famous people, from partner countries who had or still have European influence or invented something that is used in Europe and the world. It was great that we were able to learn more about each other’s history, famous personalities and inventions/ innovators. Some of the posters correlated with out sub-topic “my digital country – my digital Europe”.
